Ibaadat Foundation celebrated its 2nd anniversary with a unique show, dedicated to shaayari, at the India Islamic Cultural Centre. As against our earlier shows which were all dedicated to a single poet, this programme showcased one ghazal each of 16 most renowned poets, transcending 3 centuries. While 14 of these were rendered with accompaniment of musicians, by 3 renowned ghazal singers, 2 ghazals were recited by well-known poets. Each ghazal was preceded by a conversation between two comperes highlighting some key aspects of the relevant poet, and also recitation of scores of shers of some other great poets.
The event received an overwhelming appreciation.

Mubarak ho ! I was wondering how would you move from a poet-based format (which you have mastered so well) to multiple poets! Which poets would you select and which ghazal of each poet ? I must say I am overwhelmed by this event. The selection, rendering, recitation, compering and a great selection of shers. Truly an evening to remember forever. Thank you for a wonderful evening of Shaayari. The event was a wonderful and carefully crafted journey down the memory lane to an era when music was music and shaayari was in the classic mould. Engagingly compered and masterfully sung by talented singers, the event was a rare treat for connoisseurs. Manoj Kumar, Jt. Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs
